Ecuador, Esmeraldas, Río Cayapa, Zapallo Grande. With canoe the river was followed 5 km. downstream from the village. The collections were done on the riverbank and around houses.

Shrub, 1 m tall. On river bank. Flowers red. Nom. Vern.: Nicharoca la jabiquino tape (Cayapa); Use: For pains in the stomach. The stomach is massaged with a twig of the plant and a little water.
