Locality: Ecuador, Bolívar, Sin datos, Sin datos, Cordillera Occidental; vertientes del lado norte-oeste de Chimborazo. Scattered on the arenas of Chimborazo above the paramos. Drifting sand partly in small dunes. Between El Arenal and Chimborazo as road turns south.

Description: Low basal rosettes above large tap roots. Leaves silver gray, hairy, to 10x2 mm. Heads acaulescent, almost buried in sand. Invol. bracts papery; ligul. fls. none; disc fls. greenish yellow.
