Terrestrial; internodes longer than broad; cataphylls 45 cm long, deciduous with a few pale fibers persisting; petioles dark green, matte, sharply flattened adaxially with raised margins and up to 5 weak ribs on the sulcus, 4 ribs on each side, rounded and unribbed abaxially; blades thinly coriaceous; midrib acute and concolorous above, narrowly rounded and paler below; primary lateral veins deeply sunken and concolorous above, narrowly raised and concolorous below.
