Habitat: Wet forest. Primary forest

Description: Canopy tree 30 m tall, 40 cm diameter. Very common in this section of Bilsa. Bark rather smooth, granular. Leaves ferruginous beneath, the young leaves tan-colored, limp and soft. Mature leaves coriaceous. Inflorescences borne on leafy branches. Inflorescences ferruginous. Flowers yellow. Fruits dark green, the cupules tan-ferruginous. At maturity, cupule covers lower half of fruit. Tree # 19.17 in plot # 1.
