Terrestrial on steep bank; cataphylls 20-38 cm long, persisting as brownish fibers and large patches of dark brown epidermis; interior of stem and petioles bright pinkish red; petioles 72-106 cm long, 1.3 cm diam., medium green and weakly glossy, sharply and broadly V-sulcate adaxially with 5 prominent ribs on each side, the abaxial surface unribbed near the apex but with increasingly more ribs developing towards the 18-21 ribs present, ribbed circumferentially; blades 65-66 cm long, 45.2 - 54.3 cm wide; anterior lobes 47.5 - 51.6 cm long; posterior lobes 22.3 - 25 cm long, 17.8 - 18 cm wide, blades with a prominent overlapping fold directed inward from the posterior lobe; midrib acute and paler above, narrowly round-raised and pale below; primary lateral veins narrowly raised and paler above, and below; tertiary veins weakly raised in part below; collective veins arising from 7th or 8th pair of basal veins; inflorescences erect; peduncle 42 cm long, 7 mm diam., medium green, weakly glossy; spathe reflexed-spreading, 19 cm long, 4.5 cm wide, medium green, weakly glossy inside, glossy and tinged purplish outside; spadix 23 cm long, 1.2 cm diam., pale green and matte.
