"Parcela Emperador", 0.25-hectare forest inventory plot, 1 km southeast of Paquisha Alto military post. Montane cloud forest on hilltop, nearly level ridgeline. Mining concession "Emperador" of Kinross Aurelian Corp.

Large canopy tree 23 m tall, with trunk 47.7 cm DBH. Tree # 311 in Emperador plot. Locally common. Bark light brown, shed in rounded flakes to reveal patches of dark reddish-brown inner bark. Leaves with caducous stipules. Most leaves markedly asymmetrical, auriculate-revolute at base. Flowers 5-merous, ramiflorous, ivory-white at anthesis. Most duplicates of this collection with floral buds only.
